I bet you all didn't know I was counting down to something. But I totally am.
In two days, my cell contract can be upgraded. Which basically means I sign on for a number more years of indentured servitude and my cell provider lets me get a way more cool phone at a fraction of the regular cost.
It's really a vulgar plan in it's simplicity, but I've totally fallen for it. Because... hello?!?!? iPhone! Yep, that's right. I'm trading in my old model BlackBerry for a sleek, pretty new iPhone. And I'm happy to do it. So very, very happy! Giddy, even.
Two.
More.
Days.
*sigh*

Ok, you sound like College Daughter here..........only I make my kids only pick the FREE phones!
I'm still wondering why phones need to have cameras in 'em. . .
Bijoux -- Well, my daughter is eagerly anticipating my hand-me-down phone. So, I guess that counts as "free", too.
Craig -- Actually, one of the things I'm most excited about this phone IS the camera. I'm working on a Project Life book, kindof documenting/scrapbooking our family's year and it seems I never have my camera with me when the "good stuff" happens. My current phone camera really doesn't take terrific pics -- not comparable to having an actual camera in hand, anyway. But the iPhone might just make the need for a point-and-shoot obsolete. And then there is the FaceTime app where I can talk to my friends/fam on wifi for free -- and with video!! -- even if it's long distance. Not to mention how it will make my social network marketing for the skate store so much easier.
Can you tell I'm excited? lol ONE MORE DAY!!!! Huzzah!
And just so y'all know that my daughter isn't entirely a spoiled princess (Even though I call her Princess, here)... Yes, she will have a Blackberry hand-me-down phone. But we only pay $6/month for 100 texts that she faithfully and responsibly rations and $0.25/min for calls that are only between her and us in more-or-less emergency situations, etc. She pays for the texts, herself and the minutes we pay for as they are for our peace of mind, at our discretion. I'm contemplating letting her get the unlimited text package... but we'll see. Things have been going well as is, so maybe there's no need to change it, even though I know she'd love to not have to ration so vigilantly.
craig, you needa take pics of the scenery when you ride, man, if your phone had a good cam you'd be set!! Try it, it's amazing how many good pics I can take that I would never get 'cause the camera's always at home.
My prior cool phone got crushed but my iPhone's been protected by an Otterbox. So far so good,, and I even like it .... go figure!
